Lexus OBD2 codes
Codes where we have reviewed, vehicle-specific evidence for this make.
Lexus's notes come from one bulletin for cam timing codes, with or without a ticking noise, on 2007 to 2010 ES 350 and RX 350 models.
B0111 with the SRS light on the GX 470
Lexus bulletin LSB-0005-10 covers the SRS light with B0111 on the 2005 to 2009 GX 470 and supplies an updated wire harness. This is an airbag system, so have it inspected rather than working on it yourself. We have not confirmed the bulletin is still current, so this is labelled vehicle data rather than confirmed by bulletin.
B0111 with the SRS light from an open side squib circuit
Lexus issued repair manual supplement EL001-08 for an SRS light with B0111 from an open side squib circuit on the RX 330, RX 350 and RX Hybrid. Squib circuits fire the airbags, so have the system inspected by a qualified technician and do not probe the connectors yourself. We have not confirmed the bulletin is still current, so this is labelled vehicle data rather than confirmed by bulletin.
B1861 with the SRS light on
Lexus bulletin LSB-0167-08 covers an SRS light on with B1861 on the IS 250 and IS 350, and an owner reports a harness replacement under warranty. The SRS is the airbag system, so have it inspected by a qualified shop rather than repaired at home. We read only the NHTSA summary, and we have not confirmed the bulletin is still current, so this is labelled vehicle data rather than confirmed by bulletin.
C1252, C1253, C1256 and C1391 with brake and VSC lights on the CT 200h
Lexus bulletin L-SB-0009-21 says brake, ABS or TRAC lights or Check VSC with C1252, C1253, C1256 or C1391 on the 2011 to 2014 CT 200h may come from a small internal brake fluid leak inside the brake booster with master cylinder. A related Lexus bulletin covers the brake actuator on 2014 to 2017 models. This is a brake system, so have it inspected by a qualified technician. We have not confirmed the bulletins are still current, so this is labelled vehicle data rather than confirmed by bulletin.
- C1252: Hybrid brake booster or actuator fault (Toyota, Lexus) or vacuum pump control circuit (Chrysler, Jeep, Ram)
- C1253: Hybrid brake booster or actuator fault, internal brake fluid leak (Toyota, Lexus)
- C1256: Hybrid brake booster or actuator fault, internal brake fluid leak (Toyota, Lexus)
- C1391: Hybrid brake booster or actuator fault, internal brake fluid leak (Toyota, Lexus)
P0014 or P0017 with or without a ticking noise
Lexus bulletin LSB-0028-09 covers P0014 or P0017 with or without a ticking noise on some 2007 to 2010 models. Ask a Lexus dealer to check it before cam timing parts are replaced.
P0015 with engine ticking
Lexus bulletin LSB-0028-09 covers an engine ticking noise and/or a check engine light with P0015, classed as an engine mechanical bulletin. The summary gives no repair, so check the oil level and condition first. Only the NHTSA summary was read, not the bulletin itself. We have not confirmed the bulletin is still current, so this is labelled vehicle data rather than confirmed by bulletin.
P0156 fixed by an ECM calibration update
Lexus bulletin 01606 is an engine computer calibration update for a lit check engine light with P0156 on the 2004 to 2005 LX 470. Only the NHTSA summary was read, not the full bulletin. We have not confirmed the bulletin is still current, so this is labelled vehicle data rather than confirmed by bulletin.
P0234 from turbo overboost logic
Lexus bulletin L-SB-0092-16 covers a warning light with P0234, turbocharger overboost, on the 2015 and 2016 NX 200t with the 8AR-FTS engine. Lexus changed the engine computer logic to reduce the chance of the code, so check for the software update before testing parts. We have not confirmed the bulletin is still current, so this is labelled vehicle data rather than confirmed by bulletin.
P0353 and P0354 on the ignition coil circuits of the ES 350 and RX 350
Lexus LSB-0179-09 says some 2008 to 2010 ES 350 and RX 350 vehicles may store P0353 and P0354, which point to the ignition coil primary or secondary circuit. The summary names the codes but not the repair. A bulletin for the Scion of the same year describes an improved coil. Ask a dealer to check this bulletin. We only read the NHTSA summary, not the full bulletin. We have not confirmed the bulletin is still current, so this is labelled vehicle data rather than confirmed by bulletin.
P0418 and the air pump on the GX 460
Lexus bulletin L-SB-0028-14 covers the check engine light with P0418 and other secondary air codes on the 2010 to 2013 GX 460 with the 1UR-FE engine. Lexus modified the air pump filter and the air switching valve assembly. We have not confirmed the bulletin is still current, so this is labelled vehicle data rather than confirmed by bulletin.
P0553 as a power steering pressure sensor fault
NHTSA bulletin 10026167 covers a lit warning light with P0553, a power steering pressure sensor malfunction, on the 2008 Lexus LX. Only the cached NHTSA summary was read. Steering is a safety system, so have it inspected by a qualified technician. We have not confirmed the bulletin is still current, so this is labelled vehicle data rather than confirmed by bulletin.
P0745 with harsh engagement into Drive
Lexus bulletin L-SB-0005-19 covers a warning lamp with P0745 (pressure control solenoid A actuator stuck off) and harsh engagement into Drive on the 2019 RX350. The fix is an engine computer logic update. Ask a dealer whether the update applies before replacing transmission parts. We read only the NHTSA summary and have not confirmed the bulletin is still current, so this is labelled vehicle data rather than confirmed by bulletin.
P0A0F (engine failed to start) from a separated purge line
Toyota bulletin T-SB-0041-15 says some 2010 to 2013 Prius and 2012 to 2013 Prius v models may show a warning light with P0A0F (engine failed to start) when the purge VSV/PCV line separates from the throttle body housing. The bulletin says to replace the purge VSV and reprogram the ECM. Lexus has a matching bulletin for the 2011 to 2013 CT 200h. We read only the NHTSA summary. We have not confirmed the bulletin is still current, so this is labelled vehicle data rather than confirmed by bulletin.
P0A7A on Lexus hybrids with an information code
Lexus bulletin L-SB-0087-16 applies to 2013 to 2016 hybrid models only if information code 122 is present with P0A7A. It shares its condition with a Toyota bulletin. We only read the NHTSA summary, which does not give the repair. We have not confirmed the bulletin is still current, so this is labelled vehicle data rather than confirmed by bulletin.
P107B from the fuel rail pressure sensor B circuit
Lexus bulletin L-SB-0022-20 covers the MIL on with P107B, a fuel rail pressure sensor B circuit range or performance fault, on the 2018 to 2020 RX 450h and RX 450hL. The bulletin replaces the fuel pump assembly. We only read the NHTSA summary. We have not confirmed the bulletin is still current, so this is labelled vehicle data rather than confirmed by bulletin.
P1444 among secondary air injection codes
One owner of a 2006 Lexus GX470 lists P1444 among several secondary air injection codes. This is a single complaint and only the complaint text was read. The source is owner reports, not a confirmed repair. It needs testing to confirm.
P2195 from an air-fuel sensor stuck lean
Lexus bulletin LSB-0032-10 lists P2195 with downstream oxygen sensor codes on some Lexus models, and names an air-fuel sensor signal stuck lean on both banks. Check the air-fuel sensor readings first. We only have the NHTSA summary. We have not confirmed the bulletin is still current, so this is labelled vehicle data rather than confirmed by bulletin.
P2440 and P2442 from the secondary air pump filter and valve
Lexus bulletin L-SB-0028-14 covers the check engine light with secondary air codes including P2440 and P2442 on the 2010 to 2013 GX 460 with the 1UR-FE, and the air pump filter and air switching valve assembly were modified. On 2014 to 2016 models the vehicle notes say limp mode is possible in sub-freezing weather. We have not confirmed the bulletin is still current, so this is labelled vehicle data rather than confirmed by bulletin.
P2445 from the secondary air pump filter and switching valve
Lexus bulletin L-SB-0028-14 says some GX 460 with the 1UR-FE engine set P2445 with other secondary air codes. The air pump filter and air switching valve were modified to make this less likely. Only the cached NHTSA summary was read. We have not confirmed the bulletin is still current, so this is labelled vehicle data rather than confirmed by bulletin.
P2716 with the check engine light on the ES350
Lexus bulletin 00307 covers the check engine light with P2716 on the 2007 ES350. The summary we read does not give the cause or the fix, so ask a Lexus dealer whether it applies before replacing transmission parts. We have not confirmed the bulletin is still current, so this is labelled vehicle data rather than confirmed by bulletin.
P3190 with poor engine power in heat and altitude
Lexus bulletin L-SB-0023-18 names P3190 as poor engine power on 2016 to 2018 RX 450h models in high altitude and high temperature. The fix was a change to the engine computer logic. Only the NHTSA summary was read. We have not confirmed the bulletin is still current, so this is labelled vehicle data rather than confirmed by bulletin.
P3190 from a purge valve line that has separated
Lexus L-SB-0019-15 covers the 2011 to 2013 CT 200h. It describes a Poor Engine Power fault and, with P3190, applies the same purge VSV and PCV line fix as the matching Toyota Prius bulletin. We only read the NHTSA summary. We have not confirmed the bulletin is still current, so this is labelled vehicle data rather than confirmed by bulletin.
P3191 from a purge line separation on the CT 200h
Lexus bulletin L-SB-0019-15 covers P3191 on the 2011 to 2013 CT 200h and describes the same purge valve and PCV line separation as Toyota T-SB-0041-15. Only the NHTSA summary was read. We have not confirmed the bulletin is still current, so this is labelled vehicle data rather than confirmed by bulletin.
