Suzuki OBD2 codes
Codes where we have reviewed, vehicle-specific evidence for this make.
Suzuki's notes cover the airbag system on the 2005 and 2006 Forenza and Reno, where a Suzuki bulletin links two airbag codes that tend to appear together. Airbag faults need inspection by a qualified technician. We have not confirmed the bulletin is still current.
B1312 from the passenger seat sensor mat
NHTSA owner complaints on the 2007 to 2008 Suzuki SX4 quote dealers finding B1312 as invalid input from the passenger seat sensor to the airbag system, and replacing the seat cushion or sensor mat. This is an airbag system part, so have it inspected by a qualified shop rather than repairing it yourself. This comes from owner reports to NHTSA, not from a manufacturer document, so treat it as owner-reported vehicle data.
B1318 with the airbag light from passenger seat load changes
Suzuki bulletin TS-01-11029 says the airbag warning light and B1318 on the 2009 SX4 can come from a change in load on the passenger seat, such as a passenger shifting or an object bouncing on the seat. We only read the NHTSA summary. This is an airbag system, so have it inspected rather than repairing it yourself. We have not confirmed the bulletin is still current, so this is labelled vehicle data rather than confirmed by bulletin.
B1318 with the airbag light on, from a Suzuki bulletin
Suzuki bulletin TSB-05-01140 gives a countermeasure procedure for B1318 on the 2009 Grand Vitara. The summary links it to an airbag light caused by a change in load on the passenger seat. We only read the NHTSA summary, not the bulletin. The airbag system is safety-critical, so have it inspected by a qualified shop. We have not confirmed the bulletin is still current, so this is labelled vehicle data rather than confirmed by bulletin.
B1378 and B1382 from high airbag circuit resistance
Suzuki bulletin TS 05 01158 covers an airbag light with B1378 and B1382, meaning the driver or passenger airbag circuit resistance is too high, on 2005 to 2006 Forenza and Reno. One 2007 Forenza owner reports a dealer finding a loose connector at the airbag module. Because this is the airbag system, have the connectors and circuit inspected by a qualified shop. We have not confirmed the bulletin is still current, so this is labelled vehicle data rather than confirmed by bulletin.
