Scion OBD2 codes

Codes where we have reviewed, vehicle-specific evidence for this make.

Scion's notes come from a Toyota bulletin: an improved ignition coil for coil circuit codes on the 2008 to 2009 xB. If one of those codes is set on that car, ask whether the updated coil was ever fitted.

C0210 in wet weather on a wheel hub and bearing

Supported by vehicle data

An owner of a 2008 Scion xB reported a dealer finding C0210 in wet weather and saying the hub and bearing assembly had to be replaced because the sensor is not sold separately. This is one owner narrative, so treat it as a lead and not a confirmed cause. The ABS is safety-critical, so have it inspected by a qualified shop. The source is an owner report to NHTSA.

P0353 and P0354 from ignition coil circuits on the xB

Supported by vehicle data

Scion bulletin SSB-0028-09 covers a check engine light with P0353 and P0354 on the 2008 to 2009 xB. Toyota released an improved ignition coil assembly for it. Check the coils first. The bulletin is published on NHTSA, but we have not confirmed it is still current, so this is labelled vehicle data rather than confirmed by bulletin.

P2820 on a pressure control solenoid

Supported by vehicle data

Toyota bulletin T-SB-0289-17, with a matching Scion bulletin S-SB-0002-18, covers some 2014 to 2017 Corolla and 2017 iM models showing the check engine light with P2820, a pressure control solenoid performance condition. The engine computer logic has been updated to prevent it. We only read the NHTSA summary. We have not confirmed the bulletin is still current, so this is labelled vehicle data rather than confirmed by bulletin.
