P07E6: Stuck in Park detected

Stuck in Park / park system fault

Severity: Severity not verified — if the car runs badly, have it inspected

Carly rates the code not serious, but Ford bulletins tie it to a vehicle stuck in Park and to neutral-out while driving, and we found no source that says whether it is safe to drive.

P07E6 in short

P07E6 means the transmission computer has detected a Stuck in Park condition. Ford bulletins link it to a leaking park valve circuit on 10R-series transmissions and to Escape hybrids that will not leave Park. Cause varies by vehicle. If the vehicle neutrals out or will not move, have a dealer check it.

P07E6 is a park-system code. The transmission computer sets it when it sees the park system stuck engaged, or the wrong state compared with what was commanded.

Ford has two bulletins that name it. On 2018-2021 Expedition and Navigator and 2020-2021 Explorer and Aviator with 10R80 or 10R60 transmissions, a momentary neutral-out in drive comes with P07E6 and/or P07E4, and the cause is a leak in the park valve circuit.

On 2023-2024 Escape vehicles with the HF45 hybrid transmission, P07E6 stored in the inverter controller goes with a wrench light, a flashing P on the dial and a vehicle stuck in Park.
