P0200: Fault in an injector circuit, cylinder not identified

Injector circuit malfunction

P0200 in short

P0200 means the engine computer found a fault in one of the fuel injector circuits. Causes include a failed injector, a wiring fault or an injector driver problem in the computer. Misfire and stalling are possible, so get it checked soon.

The computer switches each fuel injector and watches the circuit. P0200 is the general code: it does not name which injector is at fault.

TroubleCodes.net lists failed injectors, injector circuit faults, wiring issues and the injector driver in the computer as causes. Cylinder-specific codes P0201 to P0214 narrow it down.

The Delaware DMV generic code list gives the same title, injector circuit malfunction.

Most likely causes

These are general causes for this code across vehicles. None is specific to one make or model.

What to test first

Start at step 1. Each result tells you what it means and where to go next.

  1. Step 1: Read all codes and note any misfire codes stored with P0200.

    Low riskTool: OBD-II scan tool

  2. Step 2: Have the injector connector, power feed, ground switching, coil resistance and pulse tested (noid light or oscilloscope).

Best left to a shopTool: multimeter, noid light

Warning:Injectors are under fuel pressure and sit near hot parts. Let a shop do it.
