C2217 on Ram
Electric power steering module internal fault (Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram)
Severity: Inspect soon
Chrysler bulletins describe this code with a Service Electric Steering message and loss of power steering assist, on some models for the rest of the drive. You can still steer, but it takes much more effort.
It gets more serious if:
- Stop: Steering assist cuts out while driving and the vehicle is hard to steer. Pull over somewhere safe and have it checked before driving further.
