P1740 on Dodge
Lock-up or overdrive solenoid performance (Dodge) or 4th clutch pressure switch fault (Honda)
Severity: Inspect soon
Both meanings are monitored transmission faults, and on Hondas P1740 comes with a flashing D, which Honda says means a possible transmission problem to have checked as soon as possible.
It gets more serious if:
- Not verified: The transmission indicator flashes "D", or the car goes into limp-home mode (stuck in one gear). Honda says a flashing D means a possible transmission problem and regulations require the light in limp-home mode, but we found no source saying whether you must stop
