P1233 on Mercury
On Ford vehicles, the engine computer cannot communicate with the fuel pump driver module, so the module is reported off line
Severity: Inspect soon
An owner reports the engine stalling at 75 mph with no warning and restarting only to stall again, so a driver module that drops off line can leave you without power in traffic.
It gets more serious if:
- Stop: Do not keep driving if the engine has stalled more than once or will not restart, and have the car towed. Owners report stalls at highway speed and being stranded.
