P1217 on Nissan
Engine over-temperature condition on Nissan (a cooling system fault, not a transmission fault)
Severity: Severity not verified — if the car runs badly, have it inspected
The code reports an overheating engine and owners report stalling and low coolant, but we found no source that sets how long the engine can run.
It gets more serious if:
- Stop: The temperature gauge or warning shows overheating, steam or coolant loss appears, or the engine stalls or loses power.
